Find out more about how the money raised by the Crimson Foundation is helping school and community-based projects.
In the Summer of 2007 the Lichfield Garrick Youth Theatre put on an outstanding production, to a near sell out audience, of the well known musical, “Fame” at the Garrick theatre. Around 50 young people aged from 11-20 from the Lichfield area took part in an extremely professional show, showing off their acting, dancing and singing abilities. The ethos of the youth theatre is to offer youngsters the opportunity to experience performing arts to a high standard and endeavour to put on two shows a year at a professional theatre, supported by orchestras, hired sets and costumes. Putting on an amateur show to such a high standard runs into thousands of pounds and for this show the youth theatre was assisted by a generous donation from the Crimson Foundation. Oliver Rowe, the society’s chairman expressed his thanks on behalf of the LGYT committee and it’s members, to all of those involved in the running of the foundation for their generosity and support, and of course to all of those who have contributed their time and effort in raising the funds for this fantastic charity. Rehearsals are currently underway for “Les Miserables” which the youngsters are looking forward to performing at the same venue in March 2008.
