Innovation Conference 2024

Are you ready to unlock the power of AI within your organisation?

Well, there’s no time like the present to get in on the AI action. In fact, over three quarters of organisations polled in the 2023 Nash Squared Digital Leadership Report had already deployed GenAI tools for their teams to use. And what’s more, over 50% reported that AI is supporting jobs, not replacing them.

And according to June 2024’s Pulse Survey, one in every 20 organisations (that’s 5%) already have a chief AI officer or CAIO. A further 5% are expecting to appoint one soon.

So, whether you’re ready to get up to speed with these AI trailblazers; you want to develop AI and automation solutions to solve your own workflow roadblocks; or you’re already leading the charge for AI and want some additional inspiration, then we have the totally free event for you.

We’ll start off bright and early with a relaxed networking breakfast, followed by a few words by our marketing maestro Mark Britton.

Then we’ll kick off the event with the hotly anticipated keynote address from our guest of honour Professor Dame Wendy Hall DBE, FRS, FREng. Dame Wendy co-chaired the UK Government’s AI Review, published in October 2017 and remains a member of the government’s independent AI Council. Dame Wendy is a Regius Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Web Science Institute at the University of Southampton and is a Fellow of the Royal Society – amongst countless other stellar achievements.

Ian is an impassioned advocate for the transformative role of data. His unique perspective has been shaped over 20 years of front-line, global experience helping organisations use data to transform operations; working globally in sectors as diverse as retail, financial services, media, and politics.

But how are we going to achieve AI and data greatness without the right expertise? Well, after a short coffee break to network with fellow delegates and digest some of the wisdom from the morning, we’ll be treated to an engaging panel discussion.

“Fostering AI Magic: Cultivating Creativity and Innovation” is set to be an engaging panel conversation, led by Crimson’s Change & Transformation Director, Cat Halstead, who will be joined by Dame Wendy, Ian Bobbett, and our Recruitment Services Director Louise Clarke. Together, the experts will discuss overcoming tech staffing challenges, hiring an effective team, and embedding a data driven culture.

After Cat’s enlivening panel, we have a fun challenge planned: “30 Microsoft Copilot Hacks in 30 Minutes: The Rapid-Fire Challenge.” Can our Chief Technology Officer, Ollie Sinclair, showcase 30 practical uses for Microsoft’s flagship GenAI tool before the clock ticks down to zero?

Ollie is a skilled technologist with a decade-long track record in enterprise Dynamics 365 and Power Platform implementations. His hands-on experience at Microsoft and at numerous Gold Partners has gifted Ollie a skill for aligning technical complexities with organisational goals. Ollie is committed to empowering organisations to achieve their utmost with seamless Microsoft implementations.

Afternoon

As of late August 2024,  much of the rest of the day is still to be announced. But here’s what we know so far:

Panel Discussion: Success Stories – How Customers are Harnessing Data and AI

To give us all a little AI inspiration, our Consultancy Director David Catmur-Lloyd and Sales Director Nathan Smith will be joined by Ollie Sinclair and Ian Bobbett to chat about specific, interesting AI use cases; incremental AI rollouts; and successful AI-driven projects that our network has achieved using Microsoft technology.

David’s experience in operations, consulting and IT leadership spans over three decades, amassing a wealth of practical technical transformation wisdom. His skill as an analyst, strategist, and growth champion has enabled him to lead digital transformation initiatives across verticals such as higher education, manufacturing, local government, and more. Nathan is dedicated to helping Crimson’s customers achieve greatness via our Microsoft solutions and consultancy offerings.

Dodge the AI Pitfalls and Build a Winning Foundation

It’s going to be a busy day for Ollie! In this talk, Ollie Sinclair will give us an overview of common AI challenges like data privacy, introduce Microsoft’s Azure AI Studio, and explore how organisations can craft their own generative AI engines.

Talk by a Special Guest from Microsoft

We’re going to be joined by an expert from Microsoft, who is expected to discuss the company’s roadmap for AI investment.

Our Final Keynote

This second keynote is still very much under wraps at the moment. All we can say is that it’s bound to leave us all looking forward to an exciting, AI-enabled future!

Ample Networking Opportunities
There will be breaks for informal networking peppered throughout the day. All talks and panels will conclude at around 3:15pm, allowing for plenty of relaxed networking and nibbles until 5pm.
