Crimson is delighted to announce that Priestley Smith Specialist School in Birmingham has been selected as our Community Partner of the Year. As a digital transformation consultancy and IT recruitment agency, we understand the importance of equipping young people with the confidence they need to succeed in an increasingly fast-moving, technology-driven world. By leveraging our expertise in digital innovation and talent development, we are committed to supporting initiatives that prepare the next generation for the evolving workplace while making a meaningful difference in our local community.
Priestley Smith Specialist School is dedicated to being an outward-looking centre of excellence in the education of children with visual impairments. Their mission is to develop confident, caring, and independent young people through high-quality teaching, learning, and pastoral care. The school provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that enables all students to reach their full potential, encouraging them to be as confident, resourceful, and independent as possible.
Offering a broad, balanced, and highly differentiated mainstream curriculum, the school adapts learning to meet each child’s visual, educational, and social needs. Priestley Smith also promotes academic and social inclusion at all stages through partnerships with campus and local schools. With a high teacher-student ratio, consistently high-quality resources and materials, and bespoke training in mobility and independent living skills provided by specialist, on-site habilitation staff, the school ensures that each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
Priestley Smith also fosters a culture where diversity is celebrated and barriers to inclusion are actively challenged. By working closely with parents and carers, the school ensures families are involved in their child’s educational journey.
Crimson will support Year 10 and 11 pupils in preparing for employment and fulfilling the criteria for their preparation for work qualification. This support includes guidance on using appropriate job platforms for research, identifying personal skills and attributes, crafting application letters and CVs, and preparing for mock interviews. Given our expertise in recruitment, our team is ideally placed to assist with this initiative. Volunteers from Crimson will provide one-to-one and group support at the school and at our Birmingham office.
Additionally, we are collaborating with the school to support fundraising initiatives to purchase a minibus and other essential equipment to enhance pupils’ learning experiences. The Crimson team is also participating in volunteering activities to improve the school’s environment and ensure that students have access to the best possible facilities.
“We are incredibly proud to work with Priestley Smith Specialist School. The resilience of these young people is inspiring, and the school’s staff are remarkable. We are honoured to be by their side in such a pivotal moment for their pupils and families. Our team is excited to make an impact and learn from the next generation.”
